We are delighted to invite you to the launch of Rachel Dawson's wonderful debut, "Neon Roses," on Tuesday, 31st of May, from 7pm to 9pm!
Join us for an evening of celebration as Rachel introduces us to her new book, a funny, heart-warming and a little bit filthy queer coming-of-age story with a cracking '80s soundtrack, set in the Valleys and nightclubs of Cardiff, London, and Manchester. The event will be hosted by author and campaigner Harry Nicholas, who will be interviewing Rachel about her inspiration and writing process.
Rachel Dawson is a lesbian working-class Welsh writer who has done a variety of jobs, including selling sausage rolls and vibrators (not at the same time), and volunteering for an MP. In 2020, she was awarded a bursary by Literature Wales, which enabled her to write her first novel. She was born in Swansea and now works in the third sector, living with her wife in Cardiff.
Our host for the evening, Harry Nicholas, is a writer, campaigner and gay trans man living in London. His first book, ‘A Trans Man Walks Into a Gay Bar’, was published this month and has been hugely well received, being described across the media as a ‘triumph’, a ‘miracle’, and ‘beautiful’. He has contributed to articles in The Huffington Post, Forbes, BBC Newsbeat, BBC3's 'Things not to say to a trans person' and Pink News.
Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to meet Rachel and Harry, and grab a copy of a brilliant novel! We look forward to seeing you there!
