Queer circus club!
Exactly what it sounds like… sessions to bring together like minded queer humans who want to learn a party trick or two while meeting new friends and trying something different. Open to anyone who identifies within the LGBTQI+ community and is 18+
Never done circus? Thats okay! This is aimed at beginners and centers around making new friends and having a bit of fun.
A typical session could look like :
- Start with an opening circle where we can share names, pronouns ect.
-A warm up/game to begin with (always open to suggestions)
-Group working on a specific bit of equipment together
-Demonstration of how to use all the other bits of equipment, and then some free time to learn something of your choice.
-Optional showing of newly learnt skills and warm down
This is an outdoor session that will take around 1.5 hours, weather dependant. You should bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in, altough this is not too physically demanding. There is a space for people with all abilities in circus.
TIMES AND PLACES
For the upcoming session, 7th July, we will meet at Victoria park bandstand, 15 minutes before the start time of the session to make the most of the time.
The session on July 26th is following London trans pride and we will be somewhere near the Wellington Arch green.
August 17th will be taking place within the Walthamstow Wetlands, closer to the Tottenham Hale area. (More details to follow in closer weeks)
Please note, I need at least 5 people to book to run the session, and if the weather isnt great we might also need to cancel. I will email by 10am the day of, if this is neccassary.
