Speaking Queerly: Dr Alexandra Ketchum on Feminist Cafes
Please join us on the 5th of June for the first instalment in our new talk series, “Speaking Queerly”, where we invite influential speakers, activists, and authors to discuss issues related to queer community and culture.Our first guest speaker is Dr. Alexandra Ketchum, who has been the Faculty Lecturer of the Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies of McGill University since 2018, and is also the Director of the Just Feminist Tech and Scholarship Lab. Alex has published several zines with the radical indie press Microcosm Publishing, including "How to Organize Inclusive Events: A Handbook for Feminist, Accessible, and Sustainable Gatherings" and “How to Start a Feminist Restaurant”. In 2022 she also published two books, “Engage in Public Scholarship! A Guidebook on Feminist and Accessible Communication" (Concordia University Press) and “Ingredients for Revolution: A History of American Feminist Restaurants, Cafes, and Coffeehouses” (Concordia University Press, 2022).
