May saw the incredible Stephen Carlin headline Comedy @ Royal WIlliam Yard with two sell out shows. We are back at the end of June and are excited to announce our headline act is the Plymouth local legend Suzy Bennett!
We're taking August off so cannot think of a better send off than 'our Suze. The support acts are, quite frankly, ridiculously good…
We have teamed up with Block and will be using their beautiful Melville room for our comedy events situated in the heart of Royal William Yard. Discounts also apply to selected restaurants at Yard: Wagamama, Hook&Line, Wildwood and Hubbox.
The full line up is:
Suzy Bennett: A born and bred Plymouthian! Former Butlins Redcoat and proud Devonian Suzy ‘accidentally’ won an award on her 6th gig and has kept the laughs, and her accent, going strong ever since, performing around the UK as well as overseas. She is the voice of the ‘Plymouth Trails’ Tour app and was recently named as one of the ‘50 Coolest people from Plymouth’ by the Evening Herald (It was in no particular order so she assumes she came third after Dawn French and Wayne Sleep).
Ed Tripp: A stand-up poet, writer and visual artist, living in Devon. Edward has previously brought his unique brand of spoken-word to nights and festivals such as Spork! Poetic Licence and WOMAD. (Edward may be known to some by his previous pseudonym, ‘Roisin’s Brother’)“Strange, surreal and side-splittingly funny” - Razz Magazine
“Dave Allen meets David Lynch” - The Spoils Collective
“…he’s been known to cover himself in yeast and wield papier mache effigies of his mum’s head, whilst delivering profound and universal truths…” - Spork!
Hosted by the Anarchic Willtordian Ballorian Edwardian: A Plymouth resident of 6 years, he has built a reputation as an original comic with a number of songs and skits regarding a variety of topics. A warm and lively host.
