Local Plymouth promoters A Press of Suspects {presents} are bringing new Mum’s and Dad’s some much needed comic relief!
The unique event will take place at 10:30am on Saturday 22nd July at Leadworks and will feature professional comics performing their normal club sets for new parents who can’t get out at night!
Becoming a parent is a wonderful journey with many highs and lows. It can be an overwhelming and, at times, isolating experience. Comedy can be used to help build a sense of connection and also relieve symptoms of poor mental health. This show aims to help parents reconnect with their adult selves, an experience that is for them as opposed to their children.
Babies, children 2 and under, breastfeeding and general chaos are all welcome but please bear in mind there will be occasional swearing and adult themes.
This month we will be bringing the Perrier Award winner Will Adamsdale who will be working on his new Edinburgh set - “Show of Just Songs”
Will Adamsdale: In 2004 Will made his Fringe debut in Jackson's Way, intending to run for 10 days. But it became a sleeper hit, championed by Stewart Lee, Lee was so impressed by Will's work that he reportedly threw his full support behind Jackson's Way and Will secured the highly prestigious Perrier Comedy Award. Will has written a number of one man comedy shows and won several awards such as the Fringe First and a Total Theatre Award. He has toured nationally, and internationally to the Melbourne Comedy Festival and 59E59 Theatres in New York.
All hosted by:
Willtordian Ballorian Edwardian: Willtordian moved to Plymouth 6 years ago and performed his first ever stand up set in the city. A man with a penchant for owls and a celebration of the absurd silliness of life! Expect chaos, music, prizes and owls....
