Join Megan Elliott (she/her), founder of Clay Wild, for a relaxing, festive pottery workshop at Sunflower Studio! The class will be focusing on traditional hand-building techniques using minimal tools and is suitable for all levels.
Date: Wednesday 13th December 2023, 7-9pm
Location: Sunflower Studio, 4B Upper Gardner Street, BN1 4AN.
Sunflower Studio is an Arts & Events Studio for creativity & wellbeing in the heart of Brighton. It is on one level and wheelchair accessible. For more information, visit their Instagram here. Please note: Whilst the space is fully accessible, parking nearby is pay & display 8am-8pm and there are limited spaces. The studio is centrally located, 7 minutes walk from Brighton Station and near many bus routes.
Price: £30 (you will take home 2+ clay creations); for each class, 20% of the spots are discounted by 50% for people with low income. Please only reserve one of these spots if you feel this applies to you. No proof is required. If the spots are sold out and you would like to attend but are unable to afford a ticket, please contact me directly. There is an option to add a pay-it-forward donation to contribute towards the cost of these spots and to enable me to offer more low-income spots in the future.
About the class:
This is a class where we will be making festive creations. Participants will be shown different hand-building techniques, including pinching and coiling, to make at least two items to take away. You will be guided through how to personalise your creations & can make them festive-themed, or you could make a special, personalised present to gift at Christmas.
At the end of the class, you will receive tips on how to decorate your items at home. Please note, because this is air-drying clay, it is not food or drink-safe. However, I can advise how to waterproof your pots for plants (if you would like).
No experience necessary - suitable for all levels!
Your clay will still be delicate upon completion and boxes will be provided to take the items home in.
