Join us for a delightful evening of Chanukah festivities `and Queer Jewish Excellence!
On Sunday, December 10, 2023, starting at 6:30 PM (GMT), we invite you to an intimate celebration of the Festival of Lights with us in person at Manchester Jewish Museum!
Whether you're a long-time observer of Chanukah or simply curious to learn more about this beautiful festival, this event is open to all regardless of religious affiliation or relationship to queerness. Bring your family and friends, and join us for a night of drag artistry, short film, music, and of course....DONUTS, all presented by Queer Jewish people with strong connections to Manchester's Jewish and Queer communities.
Immerse yourself in the Queer Joy of this festival as we gather together in the museum's Grade II listed synagoge to attend Hannukah at Hairy's where we'll be entertained by Hairy Antoinette herself, experience a special Q&A screening of Sinnerman - a short film by Josh Rose, and a mix of traditional Klezmer and Klezmerized songs from Hannah Rachel and Klezmorim of Manchester for you to sing-a-long to, as we engage in the customs of lighting the menorah and stuffing our faces with donuts (YUMMM!!)
Some of the content of this production contains adult themes, and therefore the cafe and learning studio will remain open throughout, with art supplies made available, should anyone wish/require to dip in and out of the performances.
This event is kindly supported by Manchester Pride's Superbia Community Fund, and as such is Free Entry(booking required), Thank you to Manchester Jewish Museum to enable the continuation of space dedicated to Queer Jewish existence without stigma.
Block out your calendars and don't miss out on this special occasion!
We look forward to celebrating Chanukah with you!
