Land In Our Names invites Black and People of Colour to Dandelion Blossoming, a summer gathering to welcome our community to our growing space in Glengall Wharf Garden for an evening of activities, food and discussion.
Join our collective for drop in gardening our Dandelion Garden beds, seed sowing and intention setting with our Fallow facilitator Dre Ferdinand, a potluck and barbecue, a reparations discussion with Dee Woods and a guest speaker (TBA), music with Island Girl and sauna. We will also be hosting a raffle to raise money for our land fund!
We invite guests to bring some food to share in our potluck! We’ll be providing barbecued food and salads so please bring dips, sides, salads or desserts. Bring Your Own Beverage too! The barbecue will be ready later on in the day, but there will be other food available through the event. There will be a separate vegetarian bbq and all meat will be Halal. Food will be first come, first serve.
Please book a Pay What You Can ticket - this gives us an idea of attendance so we can prepare enough food. All ticket proceeds will be split between a fundraiser and covering event costs. No one will be turned away because of lack of funds - if you need a free ticket, contact hello@landinournames.community.
This is a closed event for Black and People of Colour. You can read about what might fall under the BPOC umbrella here.

Access Information
Glengall Wharf Gardens has step-free access to the garden. There is uneven ground and woodchip paths, it is mostly flat but there are lots of plants that have taken over some pathways. There is an asphalt path from the front entrance to the saunas, the compost toilet, and some of the seated areas.
Glengall Wharf Gardens is an urban garden with construction sites nearby, and it is occasionally under a flight path, so it may sometimes be noisy. As we will be there in the late afternoon and evening, the sound may not be too loud later on.
Please bring any support aids that will make your experience in the garden more comfortable. Please email hello@landinournames.community if you have any questions around access or otherwise.
There will be a quiet area for folks to relax in. Complimentary tickets available for assistants (please email us). Please contact us if you would like to bring any support animals (no non-support pets allowed).
