let’s dance like it’s 1963…
On September 8th, we’ll be hosting our very first day party @set.social.peckham. Kicking off the day with our biweekly movement session from 12PM-1.30PM, Richard Pye will lead us through a steamy one hour workshop inspired by our summer dance favorite, Dirty Dancing. Expect hip swaying hair flipping moves to unlock our sexier and groovier alter egos that we wish we were 24/7. As this season comes to a close, let’s embrace the nostalgia of this cult classic’s bittersweet summer. It makes us laugh….and cry, but most importantly shows us the power of dance in community.
All of today’s proceeds will be donated to Foursan PDT, a local youth group based in Gaza empowering the youth to express their emotions through the arts, specifically dance. Preserving traditional dances like the Palestinian Dabke, dance becomes a tool of resistance.
Following our session, we’ll be joined by a groovy lineup of DJs with a mashup of 80s funk/House/Hip Hop and we’ll be joined by lovely vendors who will be serving you scran, so you can all boogie, eat and drink all day long.
As always our sessions are open to everyone,
Come channel your inner Swayze with us.
