As part of Queer Art in Diaspora (Q.A.I.D), we are proud to present two short films: Dzifa directed by Savannah Acquah and gaze directed by Ola Adediji.
🎞️ DZIFA
A beautifully intimate drama that follows Esther and Chioma as they navigate the nuances of their relationship. They find themselves at a Ghanaian naming ceremony where they are invited to reconnect in a rhythmic celebration of diasporic Black queer joy.
🎞️ gaze
gaze is a black queer romance short that follows Leyla and Ty as they reconnect at a house party after months of no contact. The weight of the past and Ty's actions weigh heavy on the pair - will their sustaining chemistry be able to carry them through this fractured relationship?
🎤 Q&A Panel:
Join us for an exclusive Q&A session with both directors, and members of the cast for each film. This is your chance to hear first-hand insights into the making of Dzifa and gazw, the inspiration behind the characters, and what it means to tell stories from the intersection of Blackness, queerness while in diaspora.
