Full disclosure:
We are a team of Dykes who are volunteers, running London Dyke March events with limited resources. We were hoping to get this brilliant raffle to you for the #1 Dyke March mini Fundraiser 2025. When reaching out to our community for prizes to help us raise money, we realised there are so many brilliant people who wanted to donate and realised more people should really get the chance to win prizes from these artists and makers. SO… The online raffle!
Why fundraise if we are volunteers?
While our streets claim to be free, some Dykes have higher access needs than others. While we believe the state is not doing its duty and letting these Dykes down. We are raising funds to allow for more Dykes to be involved in our community and feel a sense of community and belonging.
To do this we are firstly an ANNUAL march.
We provide BSL interpreter for the speeches after the march.
We hire Safe Only security.
We have welfare officer(s) and stewards.
We provide water and masks for those who need it.
We provide hand sanitiser and masks.
We need audio amplification equiptment (after the megaphone we had broke in 2024).
We ask that disabled Dykes lead the procession (with stewards who are there to protect their welfare).
When we can, we host free socials in wheelchair accessible venues.
AND we want to keep bringing you cool accessible free events!
As much as we as organisers are able to commit to an annual Dyke march. We are increasingly endeavouring to make our marches and more accessible. Sometimes this stuff requires money to pay people for their time - hence FUNdraising!
We create spaces for people to build community. This year, our fundraising target has increased with the aim of reducing our reliance on Social Media - if wish to support us long term please reach out: ldndykemarch@gmail.com
