flowers returns to SET Vault on 10.04.25 for an evening of germination.
After moving through ravespace for our last three gatherings, we come together again next month for an evening of audiovisual offerings in a more relaxed, contemplative environment.
Three creative pairings (consisting of a sound practitioner and film artist) will foster live dialogues between moving image and soundscape, guiding our germination and exploring the aesthetic and affective possibilities that emerge from this meeting of mediums.
Our audiovisual projects for the evening are…
Voices Carry by vj 3000 and unknown niece:
'Queer finds its home in the hidden. A journey towards, a parting, intertwined, out of time. You may question if you've moved at all. See what you can and leave the rest to pieces.'
Uprisings and Utopias by C8 and Kollagen:
‘Germinating from Bengali feminist Begum Rokeya’s narrative, ‘Sultana’s Dream’ (1905) we delve into the cycle of imagining better futures and collective action. With a hardcore ambient soundscape reflecting future-building under late stage capitalism and moving image which shops together surreal dreamworlds, activist networks, and a red hot inferno.’
What’s in the mud? by farraway and Judith Portrait:
‘What have you found? What can you take out from it? What do you give back? Do you like what you’ve found? How does it feel in your grip? Does it give or take when you squeeze it? Is it wet? Slippery? Does it even like you? Would you put it back, or keep it forever?’
Join us in the germination as we continue to explore forms of creative collaboration and knowledge sharing, as we move towards ritualised listening, and engage in practices of collective grieving and dreaming.

WhatsApp:
We will mainly be sharing updates for this event via our WhatsApp group. If you'd like to receive further communication about this event and future happenings, we encourage you to join.
Accessibility:
All spaces in the venue are accessible via ramp, including the entrance, bar area, garden and accessible toilet.
Ticketing & Costs:
The maximum capacity for this event is 50 people. We strive to make tickets as affordable as possible and apply a sliding scale between £5-10, with an invitation to give more by those who are able to. A portion of the money made on projected ticket sales will help us break even on production costs (with venue hire and design costs reaching approx £250). The remainder of money from ticket sales will be split equally between the performers. If you are able to pay more, this money will go directly to the performers.
We string together each of our events from the personal funds we have available at the time and continue to juggle our commitment to accessible ticket prices and venue, paying performers as fairly as possible and creating an immersive physical space.
If you would like to buy a ticket but do not have the means to do so at this time, email ‘flowerssldn@gmail.com’ and we will send you one - no questions asked.
