Dear Lolas,
Summer is now over, and we're thrilled to launch our ‘DECADE OF LOVE', a series of special parties celebrating our 10th year.
WATCH OUT, WE'RE BACK AT BGWMC FOR THIS ONE!!!
We're doing so by picking right from where it all started: Pelucas y Tacones. The legendary DIY Spanish party with a punk soul that shook London's alternative LGBTQIA scene, and gave voice to our community, our music, and our artists beyond borders. A lot has changed since that party started in a Soho basement by Noelia Sainz (aka DJ Pepi) in 2005, and then reached further heights with help from Alejandro Asencio, until they dissolved in 2015.
Lady Olé was born shortly after, continuing to offer that space for the Spanish community and willing to take it even further, opening up to more audiences. Part of Lady Olé's DNA owes to Pelucas y Tacones, but also to the beloved Bethnal Green Working Men's Club, a venue like no other. Since the venue was put on sale last year, it became complex to continue dancing with them, but they're still running legally, and we're very happy to be back home for this one-off.
For this one-off, we will take you on a journey across the hits and attitude that made Pelucas y Tacones an award-winning and legendary party.
Dresscode is not enforced, but we invite you to bring your trashier side, your worst wig, and the woobliest high heels you can find.
Remember: back at Bethnal Green Working Men's Club for this one. Entry before midnight!!!
Disclaimer: This is NOT Pelucas y Tacones, it's a tribute by Lady Olé.
xx
