Established in 2004, LIPSYNC1000 is the beating heart of London’s alternative drag community, where the worlds of fashion, art and nightlife combine into a chaotic haze of shoe-stomping non-stop glamour!
Now in its NINTH SEASON, and it’s first at The Divine, we introduce new hosts, East London drag icon BARBS and radical former winner, the amazing P.M.B.C.
Held weekly at The Divine, contestants only need to win ONE HEAT to go through to the GRAND FINAL where they will compete alongside 15 other finalists on the fabulous stage of the CLAPHAM GRAND!
LIPSYCN1000 HEATS ARE FREE TO ENTER & FREE TO WATCH!
Drag queens, kings and things get FOUR MINUTES of stage time and will be judged on their lip-sync skill, their look, and their overall star power. Each heat has up to two winners who go through to the Grand Final and the chance to win the £1000 cash prize plus future paid gigs with The Divine! Runners up will also get some paid gigs.
But it’s not just about winning this coveted crown - performers who have impressed at LIPSYNC1000 have gone on to have their own shows at The Glory & The Divine. They’ve come with us to perform at Glastonbury, Latitude, Hackney Empire, MTV Award shows and London & Brighton Pride, they’ve even appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Yes, we’re looking at you Bimini & Jonbers!
Each week has special guest judges - from other arts venues, journalists, favourite scene faces, fashion designers and the odd celeb for a giggle.
The glittering Grand final will be at The Grand in Clapham on WEDNESDAY 12THNOVEMBER….. SAVE THE DATE!
SEATING AND ACCESSIBILITY
Heat 5 of the competition will be held on the ground floor of The Divine on Wednesday 1st October which has level access, with a small stage and a ramp. If you are a contestant with accessibility needs, please email us and we can discuss what we can do to include you in the competition.

This event is mainly standing, though there will be some seating for guests that need them.

ACCESS INFO
Sadly, both floors of The Divine are not currently accessible as we do not have a lift.
- The ground floor, main bar of The Divine has level access.
- There is an accessible toilet in the main bar.
- The cabaret and club space are in the basement of the venue. There is no lift.
- There are 17 wide steps down to the basement with handrails on either side, this is where the show will take place.
- There are two sets of gender-neutral toilets downstairs, they are not wide enough for wheelchairs.
