Chinatown Records 華埠錄音 is a homegrown collective and archive of inherited music collections based in NYC’s Manhattan Chinatown. Kicked off in 2018 by yiuyiu 瑤瑤 & her family, Chinatown Records is a community effort to bring the archive’s music, memory, & history back to the neighborhood & beyond through block parties, sonic histories, workshops, radio, & so much more. She has the most fun going b2b (back-to-back) with family, friends, & next generation DJ historians of all ages to bring the music & memories of the Chinatown Records 華埠錄音 archive out to the streets of Chinatown, our living rooms, & the airwaves. She will always be a dancer first. @rochellehkwan Cường Minh Bá Phạm works between / in / nearby / at the intersections of sound, community, and archives. Cường has just entered the uncle era of his life – actual and metaphorical. @phambinho Norsicaa is a Malaysian-Australian DJ, label owner, & radio host with an eclectic and global repertoire that dates back to a musical upbringing. She further expanded her taste through working at Sounds of the Universe record store and as General Manager for Soundway Records, during which time she oversaw more than 110 releases including her own compilation 'Ayo Ke Disco' in October 2024. She has since started her own indie label, Sama Sama. @norsicaa Lucky Cat Zoë is a broadcaster, vinyl DJ, & artist specialising in ‘60s and 70s styles of Reggae music and vintage Soul, Rhythm n Blues and Doo Wop, and music from all over East Asia. Collecting records since age 12, Zoë started DJing at parties & hosting club nights in 2000, made her debut on Resonance FM in 2005 with her radio show Lucky Cat and series of Lucky Cat's Sound System Stories. In 2016, she founded an all-female Reggae DJ collective – Sisters of Reggae. She continues with her passion for music, which now includes art and illustration work alongside broadcasting and DJing. @luckycatzoe |
