The yoga class for trans, non-binary and cis dykes that you’ve just realised you have always wanted to attend!
Let’'s celebrate the summer for a park special. Bring your mat along to Burgess Park – we'll move together for an hour and then have a little picnic.
Exact location will be sent before the event.
Who can come along to these classes?
The only physical requirement for this class is to be able to get from seated to standing up either without use of any additional supports.
All levels of practice are welcome here, including beginners. If you are a beginner, try to get to the session with enough time to have a chat with Vic before the class starts.
Gender and sexuality will not be policed in this class. If ‘dyke’ is a term that you resonate with to any degree, and you would like to be in this yoga class, then you are welcome here.
Any student making another uncomfortable will be asked to leave.
As with any yoga class, all students will be required to sign a waiver confirming they are fit to practice yoga, understand that there is an injury risk to practicing and that they agree to be respectful of the space before they can join the class.
How much does it cost?
This class is pay what you can
What should I expect?
This yoga class will feature seated, standing and lying down postures. At some points we will move more quickly, and at others more slowly. Expect some pranayama (breathwork), meditation practice and chat about philosophy. All classes will end with a few moments of savasana (relaxation).
A chance to hang out with each other after. Crafting projects encouraged!!
What do I need to bring?
- Clothes that you are comfortable to move in
- An extra layer to put on for savasana (e.g. a jumper, socks)
- Water (very important if it's a hot day!)
- A yoga mat
Who is Vic?
Vic (they/them) is a yoga teacher and meditation facilitator, who is committed to creating inclusive, reflective and playful classes. As a child and teenager, they were taught to prize academic success and intellectual pursuits above all else. Yoga was the antidote: a space to slow down, take the pressure off and remember that they are a body as well as a mind.
After volunteering as a meditation facilitator at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre since 2022, they completed their 200 hours Vinyasa training with Katarina Rayburn and Helen Russell-Clark in 2025 at the Kindred School of Yoga.
Their philosophy of movement is as influenced by their time on the mat and meditation cushion as it by nights on the queer dancefloor. As a non-binary lesbian, Victoria knows first-hand that the yoga world does not always feel comfortable. They prioritise teaching for students who may feel nervous about stepping into the studio. Their classes offer space to encounter yourself where you are.
