Terse, erudite and brave, I Am Suing My Parents for Emotional Abuse is the first collection of poems from this emerging talent, and gives an authentic and unfiltered insight into the inner world of a young, black, queer person coming to terms with their identity and moving from victimhood to self-realisation and self-love. Framed around vignettes and memories, these poems are raw, uncompromising, and incredibly brave. They convey a wisdom and talent beyond Ford's age in numbers.
The collection also expresses itself as physical artefact - printed in a special black ink on striking blood-red paper and naked-bound with black thread, it features an expressive design comprised of remixed Rorschach ink and photographs by art director and photographer Martin Perry (Creative Director of Out There and Homoculture).
