Come and help make Queer Running Club's Banner for London Trans+ Pride 2026!
This year, QRC are making a community banner to carry at London Trans+ Pride on Saturday 25 July 2026 🏳️⚧️
What is Community Quilting?
Community Quilting was created from a love of sewing, creativity, and bringing people together. Offering a warm and welcoming space where people can slow down, learn new skills and connect with others. Together, we create beautiful communal quilts that celebrate shared stories, creativity, and the lasting connections formed through making something meaningful as a community.
This event is for all QRC East, South and Brighton folks! Friends and partners welcome but we will prioritise QRC members 💚
Even if you have absolutely no sewing experience, please come along. We will have experienced and qualified facilitators at every workshop to help you, so all abilities are genuinely welcome!
♥️ Banners and quilts have always been treasured pieces of history for our community. They help us build community, share space and communicate what we are showing up for, making ourselves visible at protests. Across LGBTQIA+ history, community banners have been carried through marches, protests and Pride events as symbols of resistance, joy, solidarity and collective care. These workshops are a chance for members of QRC to get creative, have a chat, and help make something we'll proudly carry at London Trans+ Pride!
AND GUESS WHAT! We'll be back at our beloved, Thingy Cafe in Hackney Wick 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ So you can buy drinks or something tasty to eat while we workshop! Come for the whole session or just drop in for a bit. We'd love for as many people as possible to get involved in making our banner!
See you there, babes!! 💖🏳️⚧️
