Gathering Light (光影拾遺)
collaboration with Redjade, EAST2046 and Walk-in London
Gathering Light is a walking and sketching session in Holland Park that follows the light and shadow along the path. We open with a short stretch and breath at a threshold point, marking the moment we step away from the everyday. From there, an observation warm-up reopens the senses before we start sketching: not a finished picture, just fragments of shapes, symbols and lines pulled from what we noticed along the way.
We'll be sketching on handcrafted mulberry paper (桑皮紙), listed as an intangible cultural heritage craft, shared by Red Jade Pavilion, who introduce it to us through Pixlogist and Angela, as they can't join on the day. Fragments are pooled anonymously, and everyone picks one that isn't theirs to build on, turning individual observation into something made together. We close with an open, optional share, no need to reveal who drew what.
The session runs 2.5 hours, outdoors, at a walking pace with several stops to sketch.
