Fish follows Suzanna as an unexpected attraction forces her to reconsider what she thought she knew about her sexuality. Full Fat explores the blurred line between friendship and something more, and the heartbreak that follows when two people understand that intimacy very differently. In You and Me Makes Three, a married couple take on a new kind of relationship challenge as they navigate sperm donors, home insemination and the unpredictable journey towards starting a family.
Funny, messy, tender and painfully relatable, this screening explores queer and bisexual identity, complicated relationships, unspoken feelings and the many different ways we find love and build families.
The films will be followed by a Q&A with Emmalie El Fadli, writer, director and editor of You and Me Makes Three and editor of Full Fat; Louisa Connolly-Burnham, director and producer of Full Fat; Cara Mahoney, producer, screenwriter and actor in Fish and Full Fat; and Ian Yarwood, director of Fish.

The Safflicks Film Festival is more than a celebration of sapphic cinema. It's a celebration of community, conversation and connection.
Taking place throughout October, our festival is carefully curated around the stories we tell and the audiences we bring together. Rather than screening films in traditional cinema settings alone, we partner with organisations, community groups, businesses, cultural venues and educational institutions to match each film with audiences who will connect most deeply with its themes. Whether exploring family, science, faith, identity or history, every screening is designed to spark meaningful discussion beyond the closing credits.
This year's programme features award-winning short films, documentaries and feature films from around the world. Together, they explore coming out, self-discovery, chosen family, parenthood, ageing, feminism, faith, biodiversity, relationships and the many ways sapphic lives are lived and celebrated. Alongside the films, selected screenings will include Q&As, panel discussions and opportunities to continue the conversation with filmmakers, experts and community partners.
October also includes International Coming Out Day (11 October), providing a timely opportunity to celebrate LGBTQ+ visibility while recognising that everyone's journey is different. Through stories of courage, resilience and belonging, our programme reflects the diversity of experiences across the sapphic community and beyond.

Our festival is hybrid, with a selection of films available to stream on Lesflicks, the world's largest curated platform dedicated to sapphic cinema between 10 and 23 October 2026. Whether you're attending a screening at one of our partner venues or watching from home, Safflicks brings audiences together through the power of authentic storytelling.
