#1 What the hell just happened?
2020 has been a madness however you look at it. It hasn't quite been the leveller the super rich predicted, but has been one hell of a ride. For this first episode of Blacklash, artist Rachael Young will be joined by Honey Williams, Jamal Gerald, Mika Onyx Johnson and Nima Sene to discuss the mess that has been 2020: it’s effects on our pockets, minds and relationships. It’s also a chance to discuss ways we can protect ourselves in what is set to be another challenging year ahead.
Blacklash is an invitation to be witness to a conversation; an informal space where reflection is a form of real talk. It isn’t a space for interrogation or expertise, but a window into the lived experience of Black artists in this wild time.
Speakers and audience members alike are encouraged to find a cosy space, grab snacks and join just as you are.
This event is free, but please consider making a donation to Arts Emergency in exchange for a ticket.
This event will be held on Zoom, with BSL and captions available.
