Join Queer Britain's LGBTQ+ creative storytelling workshop to explore and share your own narrative, by creating a piece of LIVING HISTORY!
An opportunity to come together post-lockdown, and celebrate the importance of storytelling in the LGBT+ community! Explore and share your own narrative, by creating a piece of living history - through written and visual artistic expression - that will be immortalised in the Queer Britain museum archives…
An introduction to the pioneering work of Queer Britain, the UK’s first LGBT+ museum; and exploration of the value of storytelling in the LGBT+ community.
You will then have space to reflect on your own unique and powerful lived experiences, by writing an ‘Open Letter’ to Queer Britain - as well as creating a visual representation of your life, through mindful collaging… No artistic skills required!
Plus, plenty of good conversation, refreshments, and a chance to meet new people.
- By the end of the session, you will
Hopefully, by the end of the session, you'll have had lots of fun reflecting on your own, and others’, unique stories through art, writing and discussion. And come away feeling more connected, represented, and appreciative of the diverse breadth of experiences within the LGBT+ community.
Your ‘Open Letter’ artwork will be documented in Queer Britain’s archive, as a tangible piece of living history - ensuring that your voice is heard, and finds its place in the historical narrative.
