Looking to meet other neurodiverse* people in a safe and non-judgemental space? Come along to our neurodiverse event to meet new people, take part in activities, go on days out, and have fun!
*Neurodiverse includes autism, ADD/ADHD, Tourette's, and many other conditions, and this event welcomes those who are self-diagnosed.
Other members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and allies are welcome to attend.
The event will be hosted by Nic (she/her), our Neurodiverse Co-ordinator.
"I'm Nic (she/her) and I'll be hosting this meetup. I'm neurodiverse (autism, ADHD & dyspraxia). I feel like I've finally found "my people" in the bi+ community over the last few years, as so many of us here are neurodiverse.
I''m accepted here, quirks, foibles and all, and don't need to hide who I am anymore, or apologise for being 'me'!
That's made a huge difference to my well-being, and allowed me to embrace my intersectional identity. I'm passionate about sharing that, meeting others, and helping others in the LGBTQ+ ND community develop a peer support network and make new friends.
I know it can be nerve-wracking going to an event if you don't know anyone, so I've attached a photo so you can look for me. We'll have some fidget toys on the table too, so you'll know you're in the right place!"
Look out for the little ceramic unicorn in bi colours with the neurodiverse infinity symbol on it, which will be sitting on our table!
Access Information:
The venue is wheelchair accessible, with lifts available to the venue, and has accessible toilets.
Fidget toys and ear defenders will be available to borrow for those who require them.
