An invitation to slip into the imaginal world…
Little Altars is a new Songs and Storytelling evening running from 8-9pm on the last Monday of the month in Walthamstow Village.
Little Altars was so named to evoke the sacred in all our little loving acts of creation. The sacred in voices joining in harmony. The sacred wisdom that can be found in ancient and contemporary tales, often buried in symbolism like that of our dreams.
The tellings will explore beings of the sea, the forest, the fae, shapeshifters and the mystical, ancient and lesser known fairytales, folktales and myths.
Beautiful, simple songs will also be taught by ear which evoke the themes and feelings of the tales. You do not need to be “able to sing” to join us. All voices are most welcome.
The evening will be low-lit with comfortable seating. Doors will open at 7:45pm to come and make a cup of tea. We will start at 8pm.
