Dear LOLAS,
Thank you to everyone who came to our last event making it a night to remember! Next up is our 8th anniversary and pre-Eurovision party at a new venue. Read up!!
THEME
Why are we throwing a Eurovision party weeks before the official festival date? Well, you know how intense Eurovision week can get with all of us queens travelling around Europe full of hope just to see Sweden winning AGAIN. Wouldn't it be fun to run our own Eurovision contest and predict what will happen in Malmo before it actually happens? Plus we're known for doing Christmas parties in July and Halloween around Valentines. Who cares? It's our 8th birthday party and we're going on a Eurovision Mission!!!
DRAGS & DJS
We have quite a line-up to celebrate 8 years of community dancing and performances. In-house drag performer Lola McQueen will take the stage fresh from her debut in Barcelona's massive event Drag Factor. Lola will be joined by the legendary Medusa Has Been a drag performer in her sixties who keeps captivating audiences across the UK, knocking down age prejudice in seconds. The icing on the birthday cake will be courtesy of Italian stallion Nicole Pellegrino, making her Lady Olé debut for all our Italian sisters out there. You will be amazed, we kid you not. Nikita Nipone (our host) will ensure you leave beyond amazed… she's our rowdy Colombian potra, be prepared.
Oh, did we say we're launching our second single? we've covered yet another dance classic and turned it into a powerful Spanish song. Lady Olé will launch its second single ‘Qué os den / Qué bien’ produced by Jesus RedSoul and with Alejandro Asencio on vocals and lyrics.
No Lady Olé is complete without the musical mastery of resident DJ duo ‘Los Alejandros’ who will spin Eurovision hits from across decades plus the usual blend of eurodance and Spanish pop.
VENUE
As we continue our tour across London venues for the rest of this season, our April event will take place on Saturday 20th of April at the fabulous Colours in Hoxton Square. A venue historically known for throwing some of the early 2000s most notorious queer parties, before Shoreditch became trendy. Colours Hoxton remains an LGBTQIA+ space with a lovely stage you'd love. Lady Olé will be hosted at the concert room at the back of the venue.
