Perhaps you’re a carer, a parent, home educator, working from home, isolated due to a chronic illness, struggling with menopause-related fatigue or simply wanting to disrupt burnout culture and build resting in community into your life.
What happens in a session?
In each 90-minute online session, we will begin with greeting and checking in for the first 10 minutes.
Then you are invited to turn off video and microphones, and listen to peaceful instrumental music for about 1 hour (or mute Zoom if the music isn’t helpful).
How you rest is entirely up to you, and might change from session to session. You might daydream, journal, stretch, nap, breathe deeply, do a craft project, sip tea and look out of your window… This is a container of rest to use however you like: sacred time. I will join in the sessions as a participant too, and plan to use the time to lay down supported by bolsters and blankets and move my body as little as possible, with perhaps a little journalling afterwards.
We will come together at the end to share anything that we choose from our rested state, for the last 20 minutes. Sharing is always optional, and we might end early if no one is feeling called to do so.
Group Size
The group will be capped at 15 members. Please share if you know someone who might like to join.
Who This Group is For and General Group Culture
This group actively welcomes members with different spiritual / religious backgrounds (and none), sexualities, gender identities, races/ethnicities, and socioeconomic realities. The expectation is that we come together to rest and share our experiences in a supportive container, respecting and holding each other’s diverse experiences and opinions with mutual respect and kindness.
Our group is now open to new members, and we will begin in April 2025. Please use the contact form at the bottom of this page to apply. We will journey through each season together as a cohort of rest, and membership will open to new people at the end of each season.
Spring 2025 Season
Six 90-minute sessions, every other week. We will meet on Fridays, at 12.30pm - 2pm UK time on Zoom.
Dates: April 11th & 25th
May 9th & 23rd
Jun 6th & 20th.
Cost
These co-resting sessions are offered on the basis of dana, a Buddhist practice meaning generosity and mutual support.
Voluntary contributions are gratefully accepted by PayPal.
Suggested: a sign-up donation of £18 per season (covering all six sessions).
If you are able, please make a donation that feels good to you. You are welcome to attend whether or not you are able to donate, and if you are in a secure financial position right now, please consider supplementing others in the community who cannot afford to donate. Your donations contribute towards the cost of pro Zoom, plus my time and energy given to hosting the sessions.
